ABOUT

Beth Rippin's artistic practice is rooted in walking through various landscapes. She is particularly interested in rock formations, utilizing long-exposure photography and creating maps of the areas that she explores.

Her photography of rocks at night stems from walking in thick fog, where rocks are often the only visible features. With no view, she came to appreciate the often-overlooked beauty within rocks.

Beth chooses the locations where she walks sporadically—often the night or the hour before. She is simply going on a walk, not planning shoots specific to an individual rock face until she is out there.
