ABOUT
A photographer and cartographer, Beth Rippin profoundly connects to the Peak District. Growing up on the edge of this beautiful landscape in Chesterfield with geography-loving parents shaped her artistic journey. She has consistently explored wild places through walking, climbing, mountain biking, skiing, and surfing, experiences that have informed her art.
Currently, Rippin's artistic focus is on the Peak District, where she developed maps based on her explorations. Her deep fascination with rocks has led her to develop a series of night-time photographs in which she individually lights up rocks within the landscape, often trailing fairy lights down rock faces.
Rippin's commitment to her art is evident in her academic journey. She is in her final year studying Fine Art at the University of Leeds, balancing her time between Leeds and Chesterfield.
